Maria C Denis, Ph.D

Dr. Maria C. Denis completed her Bachelor's degree in Microbiology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA in 1996. Subsequently, she pursued her studies in Tufts Medical School, Boston, USA where in 2001 she obtained her Ph.D. in Immunology. Dr. Denis continued her research studies as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School (Massachussetts General Hospital), Boston, USA. In 2003 she joined the laboratory of Dr G. Kollias at BSRC Al.Fleming, Vari-Athens, Greece. In September 2009, Dr. Denis joined Biomedcode's Scientific Management Team first as Head of Preclinical Services and since March 2010 as Chief Executive Officer.
Niki Karagianni, Ph.D
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Niki Karagianni obtained her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Athens University and went on to pursue her studies in the Biology Department of the same University where she completed her Ph.D. in 1996 on the role of glucocorticoid receptors in the transcriptional regulation of the early response gene c-fos and she then joined the Tumour Immunology Programme, at DKFZ, Heidelberg, Germany. In 1998 she moved to Paris to work as postdoctoral fellow in University of Paris VII and in the Faculty of Medicine, Necker Enfants-Malades. In 2003 Dr. Karagianni joined the Laboratory of Dr. G.Kollias at BSRC Fleming, Vari-Athens, Greece. In September 2009, Dr. Karagianni joined Biomedcode's Scientific Management Team as the Head of R&D.
Ksanthi Kranidioti, MSc
R&D officer & Senior Study director
Ksanthi has a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Hull, GB and a MSc in Biochemical Pharmacology from the University of Southampton. Thereafter she joined the laboratory of Dr G. Kollias initially at Pasteur Institute, Athens, Greece and afterwards in BSRC Al. Fleming, Greece performing research in arthritis and MS and fulfilling lab management tasks. In 2010 Xanthi joined Biomedcode as a research assistant in the R&D department.
Christina Geka, MSc
Histopathology & Reproduction unit manager
Christina completed her BSc in Biology in the University of Athens and moved on to acquire her MSc in the Hospital NMTS, Athens Greece with a focus in histopathology and immunohistochemistry of human colorectal cancer. Since 2006 Christina is in charge of the histopathological unit and animal breeding unit of Biomedcode.
Olga Graphou, MSc

Olga completed her BSc in General Biology in Budapests Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) and then moved on to the Institute of Immunology (Göd Hungary) for her MSc in Molecular Biology and Immunology. In 2004 she acquired a MSc from the National Kapodistrian University in Athens while working in “Helena’s Venizelou” General Maternity Hospital, with a focus on Reproduction Immunology and Histopathology. In 2004 she was recruited in the department of Immunology at BSRC “Al Fleming”, in Dr Graf’s Lab, as a Laboratory Manager and Research Assistant. In July 2008 Olga joined Biomedcode as a research assistant in the R&D department.
Eleni Argyropoulou, MSc
Eleni obtained her BSc in Computer Information Systems from the American College of Greece, Deree and further continued her education with an MSc in Molecular Biology from UPENN, University of Pennsylvania. After graduating she started working at UPENN as lab manager and research assistant where she conducted research upon the SLP-76 adaptor protein as well as organ transplantation. In 2010 she returned to Greece where she worked at the National Hellenic Research Foundation as lab assistant with a focus on proteasome activation. In April 2012 she joined Biomedcode as a research assistant in the R&D department.
Mary holds a BSc in ‘Biomedical Sciences’ at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece, with main focus in lung cancer research and a MSc on Clinicopathological studies of human neoplasms. She started her career as a medical laboratory technologist in 2008, establishing experience at various histopathology labs. In 2011, Mary has joined the Laboratory of Dr. G.Kollias at B.S.R.C ’Al. Fleming’, Vari-Athens, Greece, as a laboratory technician in the Histopathology Unit and in February 2012, she became part of the Biomedcode’s personnel, as a research assistant in the company’s histopathology Unit.
Eleni Christodoulou, Ph.D
R&D Research Scientist
Dr. Eleni Christodoulou obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Besançon (France). She pursued her studies in Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris 6), France, where she obtained her MSc in Biochemistry-Pharmacology in 2008 and her PhD degree in Physiology & Physiopathology in 2011, focusing on the role of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling on intramyocellular lipid accumulation during obesity and type 2 diabetes. In 2012 she joined the laboratory of Dr. D.L. Konotyiannis at BSRC AL.Fleming, Greece as postdoctoral scientist, where she worked on the study of the RNA Binding Protein HuR during intestinal and lung inflammation and cancer, using inducible, KO and Tg mouse models and xenografts. In 2016 she was invited for two months to Xining, Qinghai, China as a high–end expert inside of the “one thousand talents plan” of the Chinese Government to work with Prof. P. Karanis in the field of parasitology. In November 2016, she joined Biomedcode’s R&D department as research scientist.
R&D Research Scientist
Lydia has a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Medical Biology) from the University of Edinburgh, GB and a MSc in Reproductive Science and Women's Health from the University College London (UCL), GB. Thereafter she joined Biomedcode as a Marie Curie fellow and started her PhD in the Medical School, University of Crete, Greece, focusing on the role of ageing in the pathophysiology of arthritis and arthritis-related diseases. In 2016, she joined the laboratory of Prof. G. Kollias in BSRC Al. Fleming, Greece to continue her research mainly focusing on arthritis-related cardiac pathologies. In April 2018, she joined Biomedcode a research assistant in the R&D department.
